Jay Smooth is at it again. I don’t even need to say that he makes a lot of sense and that he talks in a down-to-earth way about something that’s a constant issue but doesn’t often get addressed very well. He always does that. It’s not just that he’s vlogging when most people are blogging, it’s [...]

He just lost his latest race to Asafa Powell, but Usain Bolt, by his height, bulk and name, could become a star 100-meter runner — like, known widely outside of the track-and-field world — like no one since Carl Lewis. See what happens in the Olympics.
Have you seen him run?

“We Americans are one lucky bunch. But let’s face the truth. While the Declaration of Independence assures us that ‘all men are created equal,’ we’d best face the fact that we may be created equal but we are born into a society where inequality of family, of education and, yes, even opportunity begins as soon [...]

Won’t even show the image in question. It has been analyzed too much by too many. My take all along has been that it’s mildly funny, it’s effective satire, and it’s the flippin’ New Yorker… what do you expect? I’ve been reading it on and off for about 16 years. So that’s where I’m coming [...]

Well gatdayum. Now I’ve finally seen the torture technique known as waterboarding. Christopher Hitchens looks shook.

For a minute I thought this was a first but then [...]

I’m fascinated by how much Alex Rodriguez is coming off like an ass in the case of his unwinding marriage.
For someone who’s obviously concerned about his image, he ain’t doing much of a job protecting it.
He’s still putting up numbers on the field. But there always seems to be something a bit off about his game.

Props for this:
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I, George Bush, an evil Republican fascist, used God to inflict pain on the world, end life, facilitate death, create militant jihad rebels, [...]

This is one of the most illuminating pieces I’ve read about the man. It’s about some of the books he read during the period he characterizes as intellectually stimulating. It confirms a lot for me and gives me more confidence in him. But it also says that he’s going to disappoint me, and a lot of [...]

I’m not much for sweeping statements, but here’s one: no straight man has never thought of being with a prostitute. Sex without obligation (past the money)? It’s an alluring concept. There are all kinds of reasons I and a lot of other men have never been with [...]
